GUIDELINES FOR READING JOURNAL ASSIGNMENT

Due on Nov.14 th and Dec 19 th Write a 500-800 word reading journal (typed, double-spaced, 12-point font, and 1” margins all around; refer to MLA format style https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/01/ ) focusing on your thoughts and responses to the assigned reading for the previous month. Don’t be overly concerned with grammar (although spell-check will be helpful!), but do put a lot of thinking into your reading journals since they will be key to fruitful discussions in class and even your final paper. You could bring printed-out version to the class; also, you can submit the Journal to my email address maran@lit.nagoya-u.ac.jp ; I’d send out confirmation email once your assignment is received. If you might be late for the submission, please email me in advance. Also, if you are sitting in, you are encouraged to submit your journal to me, though it is not a must.
