Here is the guidelines for the Final Paper

Final Paper: Due on August 1st (Friday), 5pm

Write a 1000-1500 word essay (typed, double-spaced, 12-point font, and 1” margins all around; refer to MLA format style; see https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/675/01/) focusing on topics/concepts/arguments etc. from the whole semester. Don’t be overly concerned with grammar (although spell-check will be helpful!).

Please submit the Final Paper to the lecturer’s email address maran@lit.nagoya-u.ac.jp with the subject “final paper for visual culture”. I’d send out confirmation email once your assignment is received. Late submission is not accepted unless emergency happens.

You should engage with TWO reading(s) as listed in our syllabus—one of which MUST be from the required readings—and you are expected to review, evaluate and even critique certain concepts (such as keywords proposed by scholars) and/or arguments (much detailed explanations). You should be able to present your own interpretation and viewpoints by offering an appropriate case study, for which you could use examples from our textbook, or from the films listed from the syllabus (could be text such as images, commercials, or cultural phenomenon reflected in screened films etc). If you have any problem, please email me or make appointment to meet me.
